Rules of behaviour in City Hall

Mutual respect is important to us. We therefore request that you observe our rules of behaviour. If we all do so, then City Hall should remain a pleasant environment.

Matters that we consider important

  • It is important to us that you feel understood. We therefore listen carefully to you.
  • We respect your privacy. We therefore treat your data confidentially.
  • We welcome your comments and suggestions for improvement and take them seriously.

We ask the following of you

  • Always follow the instructions of our staff.
  • Show your passport, driving licence or ID card whenever a member of staff asks you to.
  • Be considerate to others around you. Do not swear, raise your voice or shout.
  • If you are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, we would prefer that you return when you are not.
  • Do you want to take a photo, or make a film or sound recording in which one or more people present can be seen or heard? If so, you are obliged to ask permission for privacy reasons.

The following are not permitted

  • Smoking
  • Consuming food or beverages brought with you.
  • Pets (with the exception of guide dogs).

If you break our rules, we will request that you leave City Hall immediately. If you commit an offence, we will report it to the police, recover any damages incurred and/or temporarily deny you access to City Hall.
